Dover Road Nursing Home is envisioned as a “Lifelong Learning Village” in response to Singapore’s rapidly ageing population, promoting active and independent ageing with dignity and purpose. The design prioritises a people-centred, home-like environment that fosters belonging, familiarity, and well-being.

Core planning emphasises clear, compact layouts that support intuitive wayfinding, independence, and efficient care, with centrally located communal spaces encouraging social interaction and supervision. The design is further enhanced by thoughtful landscape integration, featuring meandering garden terraces and therapeutic outdoor spaces that support rehabilitation, engagement with nature, and holistic well-being within a community-oriented setting.
